Safety routines
Arrival and dismissal
A guide is at the courtyard door at 8:30 and again at 3:00. Only the adults on a family's pickup list may collect a student, and we ask to see ID until we know you.
Visitors
Visitors ring at the front door and sign in at the office. A parent who volunteers signs in the same way.
Drills
We practice fire drills on a calendar the guides keep, and walk through our plans for a power cut and for dust storms with the students each fall.
Heat and outdoor time
On hot days outdoor time moves to the shaded courtyard or inside, and every student keeps a water bottle in the room.
Allergies
Tell us about allergies at the visit; we ask privately once you enroll. Each room's guides keep the plan for every student within reach.
Illness
A student with a fever stays home until the next morning, and a guide calls a parent when a student is unwell at school.
